Resourcing Refugee Leadership Initiative
Refugee-led organisations (RLOs) bring an understanding that those on the outside cannot, and we are able to drive impactful and sustainable solutions for people experiencing forced displacement.
RAIC Indonesia is a founding member of the Resourcing Refugee Leadership Initiative: a six organisation strong global coalition driven by the importance of transferring ownership and resources to refugee-led organisations (RLOs). Through this coalition, we have established a world first RLO-to-RLO Fund managed by refugees for refugees. This fund distributes grants to RLOs around the world, allowing refugee leaders to access resources and scale their impact.
OUR COALITION’S VISION
The Resourcing Refugee Leadership Initiative envisions a world in which all people who have experienced forced displacement have agency over their lives and access to solutions that rebuild their lives with dignity.
THE EVIDENCE
RLOs facilitate inclusion in host communities with an awareness and understanding that outsiders cannot have, and driving solutions for people that outsiders cannot reach. However we rarely have the resources — funding, operational elements and political influence — to maximise our impact. This initiative exists to address this resource gap.
